Bingham Cup Amsterdam 2018 will host tournaments for both Men’s and Women’s teams.
Players and teams in the Men’s Tournament must be part of a member club of International Gay Rugby (IGR). At Bingham Cup Amsterdam 2018 there will be 70 teams (sides) competing across three tiers: the Challenger Division, the Hoagland Cup Division and the Bingham Cup Division. The IGR Tournament Liaison Committee will allocate all registered male players to teams (consisting of players from one or more IGR clubs), divide the teams across tiers, and seed the teams within each tier. The draw to divide the teams in each tier across pools will take place on Monday 4 June 2018. Tournament days are Friday 8, Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 June 2018. All teams will play a minimum of 5 matches and a maximum of 6, producing a final for each group of 4 competing teams, with the Bingham Cup Final being played by the top two teams of the Bingham Cup Division in the afternoon of Sunday 10 June 2018.
The composition of the three Tiers of Bingham Cup 2018 will be as follows (for tier1 the top 10 teams have been seeded based on Nashville 2018 Final Ranking – all other teams T1, T2 and T3 are listed alphabetically)
The Women’s Tournament will be an invitational tournament with 4 teams (sides) competing in one single tier. The IGR Tournament Liaison Committee will allocate all registered female players to a team (consisting of players from one IGR club, one non-affiliated club, or different clubs, either IGR or non-affiliated). The draw to determine the match schedule of the Women's Tournament will take place on Monday 4 June 2018. Tournament days are Friday 8 and Saturday 9 June 2018. All teams will play a minimum of 3 matches and a maximum of 4, producing one final, which will be played in the afternoon of Saturday 9 June 2018.
